Reflection

In my opinion the USA only represents this poem halfway. With all this controversy over immigration to our country, it does not seem like we still want the "huddled masses yearning to breathe free " or "the homeless, tempest-tost" America is still a fairly new nation compared to other countries though, so we don't have those venerable tales of heroes, or infamous rulers. Another part of the poem the USA still reflects would be that the Statue of Liberty is still a mighty woman that welcomes in immigrants (Even if they are unwanted guests).
