unlike the bold, famous, Greek giant
with strong legs stretching across the land
she stands beside the sea watching the sun set
a powerful woman with a flaming torch
her torch is like lightning
mother of kicked out people with flashlight in hand
its glow welcomes the world; her soft eyes command
the harbor between two cities
"keep your perfect community,"
she silently cried, "send your lower class
your slaves trying to escape
the watse of your clustered land
send ot me your poor and shipwrecked
i raise my lantern beside the doors of opportunity
