What Dominic Did today

Well, in the library, i helped sara, karina, and mariella find a map of Russia which was going to be used for the poster.  Also i went over my answers for the three questions i was supposed to answer for my questions with my group.  It seemed to go pretty well, then i was suddenly yelled at by Mr. Cummins and forced to write a blog about what i was supposed to complete.

Japan, Group 7

(Linh Linh, Tom, Chrysta, Antonio, Anthony)

Today we divided up the remaining questions and answered all of them. Then, we each began starting on our own part of the project.

Alden, Ben, and Sarah sent Amanda information in which she used to work on the essay. Albert worked on the map for our presentation.

The New Colssus Peom Reflection

Does USA still reflect this opinion?

The USA does and doesn't reflet this opinion. It says that it is open to others, but then at the same time our country is not welcoming everyone.

The New Colssus

The New Colssus
Remixed By Karina Padilla and Amanda Cariato

Not like a strong giant of fame
With powerful arms stretched across the land
Here at our shore line, the sunshine appearing
A headstrong woman with a burning flame
That's lighting up her name
Shining from her hand
Glows with her welcoming, her eyes in demand
Then to buildings that frame the city
We have our own, no need for yours
Hand me your tired, less fortunate,
and crowds of people needing to be free
The trash of your shore
Send those in need to me
"I welcome you with my door open!"

Korea Work Day 2

Today we divided up the work. Arthur is going to write the paper with the data everyone collected (and is still looking for). Cheryl is going to complete the map. I (Michelle) am nearly finished with the diary. Gabe is going to put together the video part. Patrick is looking for a writing from a Korean Immigrant. But I think our group (as well as others) need additional time to do a thorough job on this project. Please make it due Monday or even Tuesday :)

Korea Group

Everyone helped search out all the questions. Most of them were answered. The group split the work between the essay, the graphic visual, the story, etc. The editing and finishing parts are planned to be finished by tomorrow.

Michelle, Arthur and Patrick searched info on computers full time.
Gabe and Cheryl searched books and internet.
Today Kelvin, Veronica, and I went on the computers, Matt and Daniel looked at books. We doing the rest of the questions.

GERMANY, GROUP ONE
Our whole group split up the work equally so we all have something to contribute to the group for the project. I'm searching up the years and the number of immigrants when they came to the United States, and what they faced coming here. That's it.

Germany, GROUP 1

Today we divided up the questions. Daniel San Jose got numbers 1 and 2. Matt Aquino got 8 and 9. I got 5, 6, and 7. Jonathan Tran got questions 3, 4, and 13. Veronica Cech got questions 10, 11, and 12. We just researched the questions and got some info.

Japan, Group 7

Today our group (Anthony, Antonio, Chrysta, Linh Linh, and Tom) focused on looking up information and assigning jobs. We had compiled a list of sources on Monday night that we all used in the lab to answer the questions. Each of us looked at different sites from the list and shared our answers with the group.

What We Did Today (Ireland, Per. 3)

Ireland:

Michael Karp- looked up Irish food
Emily Fox- looked up immigration #'s and where they went
Julia Rose- looked up racism and unique problems the Irish faced
Jessica Rodrigues- looked up immigration/ got websites to look at at home

Vietnam

Sarah N did the first 4 topics, Alden did the next 5, and i did the last 5. Albert and Amanda weren't here.

Russia/ USSR

COLOSSUS BY EMMA CAZURUS

I don't think that this poem reflects how Americans think today about the immigration stuff. I don't think that we invite everyone with open arms here in America. There's like these laws that keep immigrants out or keep them from actually becoming a citizen. Trying to keep them out because they were taking jobs or something, I just personally think that this poem is sooo far from connecting with immigration today.

P.S. Sorry this is late Cummins. I went to my friend's funeral on Friday and I totally forgot about this assignment. It's been a hard weekend.. I hope I don't get a lot of points taken off for being two days late.

Does Colossus still reflect USA today?

I think that the poem today does not completely reflect the United States, but it does reflect some of it. The United States allows some immigrants to come to the United States, but are also forcing others out.

Does "Colossus" reflect what America is today?

No, because Americans are too busy closing borders to let any immigrants into this country. Although this country is made from immigrants times have changed to the point where we blame them for taking our jobs, space, and culture.

Does the "Colossus" still reflect the USA?

I'd like to believe that the USA is so gracious to foreigners, but in the present day, it just doesn't seem that way. Not only in the way, that we as a country, have handled problems with immigrants, but also in what we have done to other nations. Today, it's more important to keep those who are already here safe than to give opportunities to others, through fear and the challenges and difficulty of change.

"Colossus"

Not like the bold well known
With outstretched hands across the land;
Across our shores, great bridges stand
An Amazon with a torch, whose light
Is everlasting, and is known as
Mother of those Banished. From her lit-hand
Sends world-wide welcome; her gentle eyes tell
Of her great country and setting.
"Keep your Ferrari's, your Bentley's, your Rolls" she cries
Unspoken. "Give us your unwealthy,
The ones in need who are struggling,
What some may consider junk.
Send these people to our open shores
So that we know to shine a light on our gates."

-Linh N. and Veronica C.

Modern Colossus Poem

My partner was Anthony Cannon.

Unlike the audacious behemoth of Greek fame,
With massive arms astride from place to place
Here at our magnificent gates shall stand
A powerful woman possess
es a torch whose fire
Is the confined lighting, and her name
Mother of Outcasts. From her guiding hand
Glows universal embrace; her easygoing eyes command
The air-bridged haven that dual cities frame.
"Store, aged lands, your storied display!" cries she
With quiet lips. "Yield my your tired, your needy,
Your crowded masses craving to breath free,
The dismal junk of your bustling shore.
Bestow me these, the homeless, disturbed to me,
I raise my light along my golden door!"

Are the opinions in Collosus reflecting the current USA?

i would say no because the USA is busier with kicking out immigrants then letting immigrants in. We would be more unified in the USA if we welcomed immigrants in the USA

Does USA still reflect this opinion?

I believe that the USA doesn't believe in this poem anymore because immigrants aren't as welcome as they were before. Today, it is a lot harder. For one to become a citizen they would have to go through a long process before even stepping foot in America.

Does Colossus Still Represent the USA?

I think that some of this poem does still represent America today, but other parts of it aren't true anymore. Americans are still free, and we have many different people here, but the USA is now trying to make certain immigrants leave America, instead of welcoming them, like the poem says.

Does the USA still reflect this opinion

I don't believe the USA abides by this opinion anymore. At one point we welcomed foreigners, but the past is past. We're more intent on preventing now than ever. It is especially a hassle at the airports.

Does the USA still open their arms to immigrants as described in Colossus?

As a whole, I do not believe the current United States welcomes immigrants and appreciates their input in our society (whether it be votes, labor, technology, ideas, etc.). Our country is split between pro- and anti-immigration. Some say that the U.S. is overcrowded and that immigrants are stealing jobs from "Americans". Others say immigrants provide a better environment for cultural, intellectual, and technological development. Unfortunately, it is the anti-immigration image that is projected more prominently.

Colussus

Unlike the Greek conquest of the "world",
It's mark left on a global scale;
Here in New York,
A female symbol of America holds a flame
that represents the American spirit.
The Statue of Liberty. With her torch
She welcomes immigrants.
A link is kept between us all.
"Keep your history, your war, your greed!" cries Lady Liberty.
"Give me your social outcasts.
Those who want to live freely.
The ones rejected from your society.
Send them to me.
I welcome them with my torch."

- Linh Linh Mikutowicz & Julia Barairo

The New Colossus

unlike the bold, famous, Greek giant
with strong legs stretching across the land
she stands beside the sea watching the sun set
a powerful woman with a flaming torch
her torch is like lightning
mother of kicked out people with flashlight in hand
its glow welcomes the world; her soft eyes command
the harbor between two cities
"keep your perfect community,"
she silently cried, "send your lower class
your slaves trying to escape
the watse of your clustered land
send ot me your poor and shipwrecked
i raise my lantern beside the doors of opportunity

-Jonathan Tran
-Michael Karp

Reflection

In my opinion the USA only represents this poem halfway. With all this controversy over immigration to our country, it does not seem like we still want the "huddled masses yearning to breathe free " or "the homeless, tempest-tost" America is still a fairly new nation compared to other countries though, so we don't have those venerable tales of heroes, or infamous rulers. Another part of the poem the USA still reflects would be that the Statue of Liberty is still a mighty woman that welcomes in immigrants (Even if they are unwanted guests).

Does the USA still reflect this opinion?

No, because these days we are more concerned with getting immigrants out of the country than inviting them in.

Do we still believe in the Colossus poem?

I do not believe that as a country we currently represent the meaning of this poem. now immigration is a very long process and the usa does not take in everybody. those who are not citizens are found and kicked out of the country. there has been harsher and more laws enforced regarding immigration. people are not as openly welcome into our country and even the borders are being more closely monitored and protected. population is increasing meaning it is becoming more difficult for people to come in.

Does USA reflect opinion of poem Colossus?

No, because the way USA treats immigrants. There are all these different kinds of laws that keep immigrants out or keep them from becoming citizens. Like in Chapter 3.3, they say they try to keep immigrants out because they were taking jobs of those during the union strikes. Also, immigrants have to take an English test to become a citizen.

Colossus by Emma Cazurus

I personally do not believe that the poem created by Emma Cazurus reflects the way Americans think today because of how we treat immigration. The idea of immigration today and back then are completely different, as we have created new laws and boundaries to keep immigrants out of the country, whether it be because of disease, the lack of money, or because of anything else. We do not exactly "welcome" new citizens unless they pass tests that are given to them by the government, so as of today, we do not always invite everyone with open arms.

-Arthur Liu

colossus

Not like the large acclaimed Greeks.
With controlled bodies across the land
Here at our bright, sea-cleansed gates will hold
A strong female with a fire, whose
flame is just like lightning, named
Mother of the banished. With her lighted hand
openly shines around the world; her calm pupils order
The sea in the air that identical cities surround
with a shut mouth,"I want your poor combined into one
and set free. The trash of the sea. Send all this trash to me.
Holding the light to welcome it in.

Kelvin Shing and
Alden Audres

Our Colossus Poem

A poem redid by Gabe Enriquez and Jessica Gonzales

Not like the crazy celebrities of pop culture
With their outstretched legs.
Here at our worn-out, wide opened doors.
A brave woman with a lighter whose flame
Is the trapt chaos, and her name
Mother of Outcasts. From her lighthouse-hand
Shines welcoming anyone; her soft eyes demand
The floating-bridge connect those identical cities.
"Keep your traditions!" cries she
With mouth shut. "I'll take your tired, your poor,
Your cold, suffocating people trying to inhale,
The smelly garbage of your coast.
Send the homeless and abused;
I shine my spotlight through the golden door.

Our Version of Colossus

Unlike the bold giant of Greek fame
With strong limbs that stretch from land to land
Here we will stand at our sea-washed, sunset gates.
The Statue of Liberty with torch, whose flame
is the captured lightning and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her bright hand
that glows world-wide welcome; her serene eyes command
The open harbor that the twin cities surround.
"Keep ancient ideals, your fancy culture!" She cries
With silent lips, "Give me your hardships, your excuses"
Your huddled masses that want to breathe free.
The horrible refuse of your shore
Send these, the homeless, hardships to me
I lift my light to show the open door.

-Arthur Liu
-Daniel San Jose

reflection

I think that the poem we read in class today does not reflect how America is today. The poem is talking about how America welcomes immagrants from all countries, but now a days, we are making laws and boundries to keep immagrants out.
Love, Veronica :)

Does the 'Colossus' Still Hold Truth?

In modern America, I do not believe that the poem by Emma Lazarus still represents what the Statue of Liberty stands for. These days, America is not welcoming people from other countries. The government is trying to remove illegal aliens instead of taking them in. America no longer is the home of the exiles as we exile those who try to be apart of our country.

The New Colossus

Not the formidable golden automaton of Greek myths
A towering body reaches across the nations
Here at the horizon, of gates of bastions
A titan of a woman with a torch that shines
The encased sparks, and her name that's also yours and mines.
Lady of the Lost, from her warning open palm,
Shows global welcome, her eyes of calm.
The wind-swept seashore twin cities frame
"Keep your timeless lands, your glorified tales" is her decree.
With silent lips "Give me your withered, your paltry.
Your people struggling to be rid of the musky atmosphere.
The penny-stricken denounce the ocean air.
Send to me the repulsive, the confused and dazed.
Beside my golden facade, my lamp will be raised.

-Albert Chang & Sarah Nguyen

Does USA still reflect the opinion on Colossus' poem?

I believe that us Americans, still hold to that poem. Many people have immigrated, and still immigrate, from other countries to this land. We have always been pretty welcoming with different races and now, because of immigration, our country is very multi-cultural. I think the USA is pretty awesome because of it.

Reflection

I think that the USA doesn't reflect the New Colossus we read today. In that poem it showed the USA to be a helping country that gives their hand to other countries in need. Also, to immigrants coming here from other countries. I think that the USA does try to lend a helping hand to some countries in need. However, the USA does not reflect this about the immigration. We are saying immigration is a bad thing and trying to send people back to their countries. We are even building walls to block them out. The poem shows the USA welcoming others into our country, but today, the USA is doing the complete opposite. -Sarah Von Tersch

Reflection

In some ways, the poem reflects how the U.S. is today, but for the most part it does not. In America, we are still free, as the poem states, but immigrants are becoming less and less welcome, at least in the eyes of some Americans. These people aren't U.S. citizens, and are benefiting from us without really providing anything. This poem talks as if it will accept anyone for any reason gladly, but today alot of people would be unhappy with that.

Collossus by Ava and Antonio

Not like the famous, bold giant of the Greeks
With overwhelming arms stretching across from land to land;
Here at our sunset gates, washed by the sea, she will stand
A strong woman, with a flaming torch
Like captured light, and her name is
Leader of the immigrants. Her bright-hand
Welcomes the world; she commands
The air-bridged harbor that frames the twin citites
She says to others to "keep your stuck-up, old lands"
Silently, that they should give her their tired and poor
The downtrodden people that just want to be free
The ones they consider their garbage
Send those homeless people to her shores
She holds her torch beside the golden gates of her free land

The New Colossus

Not like the big man across the way,
With triumphant limbs from place to place he lay,
Who stretches out all throughout the land,
Here with welcoming arms we stand,
The Statue of Liberty stands here tall,
As you can hear the immigrants call,
The flame will forever tower,
Representing strength and power,
Her eyes always gazing about her land
And always trying to lend a helping hand,
With her muted lips she said "Keep your riches and your land,
We will greet them on the warm golden sand.
Send us your unwanted and poor,
Send us the people you don't want anymore.
I look out to the land and all the mates,
and I will be here forever beside the golden gates."
-Sarah Von Tersch && Dominic King

The New Colossus by Matthew Aquino, Tom Lam, and Cheryl Chew

Unlike the bold know Greek giant,
With powerful structures stretching for land to land;
Here at our worn gateways, stands
a strong women holding a torch, whose vicious sparks
is the trapped lightning flames, and her name,
Mother of Exiles. From her flashing hand
Shines welcoming to the world, her gentle eyes control
the bridged coasts in which the twin cities border
"Keep your fancy clothes, and cool technology" she says
with soft lips, " Give me your elderly, your outcasts,
those waiting to be free,
your horrible trash swarming your shores,
Send to me those lost, the homeless
As i hold my light to the gates of freedom

Do We Still Believe In The Colossus Poem?

I believe we Americans still believe in the Colossus poem because that is what makes us one. If it wasn't for that poem where would we be and how would life be without it? Ask yourselfs that. This poem in one way or another impacted us. Our lives would be all over the place if it wasn't for this inspirational poem. I believe that. It's in embedded in our hearts forever. All of us should be thankful for this beautiful poem. I will always remember the meaning or the message of the poem . What I think the message is of the poem is to be thankful for everything and everyone in your life and stand up for what you believe in. That is how I feel with the Colossus Poem.

I Believe The Colossus Poem Still

I do believe in the Colossus Poem still. I say that because that is what makes us one. The United States wouldn't be what it would be today if it wasn't for the Colossus Poem. If we didn't have laws our world would be all over the place. When I read the Colossus Poem it inspired me. We should all honor this poem and when we read it we should read it with respect. We are having our down's right now with the economy but i do believe things will work out in the end.

Do Americans Still Believe in the "Colossus" Poem

I think that this poem is still alive. Immigrants are still coming from all parts of the world searching for the American Dream. Here they find a better job and they send money back to their families.

Reflection

I think that the USA does not reflect this motif. This poem talks about letting pretty much everybody in. Back in the day, if you were destitute or running from the police or even both, you could hop on a ship over here and start over again. Today, its a bit harder. The USA does not like to admit people with no real skills or education simply because they are likely to become dependant on welfare. We also are stricter about disease and reject people based on that.

colossus

Benjamin VanCampen and Patrick something

Not like the big bold representation of a greek god
with powerful appendages straddled from coast to coast
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A large woman with a lighter, whose flame
is the combustion of natural gas, and her name
Mother of misfits. From her spotlighted hand
welcomes everybody; her mild eyes see
the bridged harbor that two cities share
"Keep, Europe, your lame traditions!" cries she
With unmoving lips "Give me your destitute,
your cold population who want to be free,
The miserable extras of your crowded shore.
Send these, the homeless, seasick to me,
i lift my light besides a gateway to a better life!"

Reflection

I think that Americans still do believe in this poem. The poem talks about many things that relate to what has happened today in the society already.

Colossus by Mariela Pena and Chrysta Perez

Not like the courage’s giant of Greek fame,
With conquering arms going from land to land
At our welcoming entrance, you shall see
A strong woman with a torch, who’s light
Is lighting itself, and her name
Mother of Immigrants From her torch
Shines a promising future, her eyes command
Protection for the misfits
“Keep old lands, with the old people” she cries,
Silently “Give me those that are tired and poor
The oppressed wanting to be free”
The trash from you land will be
Welcome in my land
It light’s its torch to give a warm welcoming

Do Americans Still Believe in the "Colossus" Poem?

I think that some people still believe in this poem. I think of it as true. I support immigrants because most immigrants are here for a better life. Members of my family immigrated here for a better life. The other group denies this poem because they are against immigration. But what they fail to see is that this country was founded on immigration.

USA reflects

I believe that the U.S.A does not reflect this opinion because the poem is talking about the Statue of Liberty however, it's really describing America. One part in the poem says, "From her beacon hand glows world-wide welcome.." After September 11 had happened, I don't think they welcome a lot people because they don't know who's good or bad. America is worried about themselves and what others might do to the country. For example, since the terrorists in 9/11 made an unfortunate memory, America is more cautious about everything.

Colossus Modern Poem

This poem was created by: Jessica Rodriguez and Michelle LaBine

Not like the bold statue of Greek fame,
With arms outstretched to welcome in,
Here at our wide-open gates we wait,
A strong person with a flaming torch,
That can be seen by all and its name,
The Keeper of Immigrants. From its torch,
People see a promise land, its eyes,
watch over those coming in,
"Keep your civilized people in their land" it cries,
"Give me your tired, your poor,
and those burdened and waiting to be free,
The garbage from your land can be,
Sent here for a better life.
It lifts its torch to welcome everyone in.

Colossus

Susan Nguyen is my partner!

Not like the bold stand of Greek fame,
With strong limbs stretched from land to land;
At shore, sunset will present
The lady liberty with a fire,
that burns like lightning.
She welcomes with her light
And it glows bright
And her eye that commands.
Keep the old land,
Give the freedom
To breathe.
The trash to the shore
Send the people
And welcome them here.

If I were eligible to vote...

If I were of legal age (eighteen years old) and I could vote, I would vote for Barrack Obama because... I think the United States of America is ready for change. The USA has been in the hands of the Republicans for too long - and even though Obama may not have as much experience as McCain, I feel he can guide our country in the right direction.

Obama 4 your mama...

if I was 18 and i could vote i would vote for obama . i would vote for obama because he is and educated black man like myself and he presenst his speeches and facts very well.....

MY VIZZOTE

If I were 18 years old.. I would vote for Obama because the reasons why he's runnning for president is trustworthy. I feel that McCain is too old to run america, and is just going to be a replica of George Bush.

I rest my case. Good bye.

If i were 18 and i could vote...

If i were 18 and I could vote i would vote for Obama cuz he seems to know what the job has in store for him and he has fresh new ideas for our country.
If i was 18 and able to vote, i would vote for Obama. I would vote for him because he would be a good chose to lead our country out of the problems that Bush left behind.

I would vote for...

Obama if I was 18 and could vote. I believe in the same things he does. I think it would be a good change. <3

Vote

If I was 18 I would vote for Obama because he is very convincing on many key points and he said would change the world. He said he would make the country less depent on oil.

Vote

If I turned 18 tomorrow, I would vote for Obama because he seems like a good change for our country.

If I were 18

If I was 18 I would vote for Obama because he is democratic and I like what they believe in. I would also like to see an African American in control of the United States. He is younger than the other guy and you never know when he will die.

If I were eighteen tomorrow...

I would vote for McCain to save Obama's life because there is a possibility that he might get assassinated.
If I was turning 18 tomorrow I would vote for Obama.
If I were to turn 18 tomorrow I would vote for Obama because for the past years this country has been led by republican values and many are unhappy with our current conditions. So in order for a change for the better I believe that Obama would be the better choice.

If I were 18,

I would vote for Obama for a change! I listened to his speech on television and I thought it was a great life changing presentation. He promises many things that I know he will fullfill in the end. He seems like he knows what he's doing. GO BARACK OBAMA!

My Vote.

If I was 18 and was able to vote I would vote for Barack Obama. This is because I think that he makes better choices than McCain. McCain made a bad choice about chosing his vice president. That is why I would vote for Obama.
If I was 18 and able to vote, I would vote for Obama because his campaign appeals to me the most.

my vote.

If i were 18 years old i would probably vote for Obama as president. I think he generally believes in the good that is in the human race and how the urge for actual change and help is needed throughout our land. I believe he has good intentions and personally anyone is better than George W. Bush so either way we cant go wrong.

My Vote

If I was 18 tomorrow I would vote for Mccain. I don't keep updated with the kinds of policies of either candidate, but some of the things I heard about Obama's past really disturb me. In all honesty I wouldn't vote at all because I'm not swayed much in either direction, but him if I had to choose. My family is also Republican, and I tend to agree with their opinions on things.

If I were to vote...

If I were 18 my vote would go to Obama because he is the right one for the job. He is what this country was waithing for. Obama is young and has new ideas and open minded. I think the other one is too old and we need new people that can live a long time to make all their promises come true.

Obama got da blackest lips in the World!

Ya feel me, If I was 18 and i could vote, Obama would be my first choice! Obama has good speech, he states his resources and facts well. I mean really who gonna vote for MCcain he going to die in a quick min, so whats the point of putting him in the office. Obama is definitely gunna win, no questions asked PERIOD!!!

my vote

If I were 18 and I could vote, I would vote for Obama for president because he represents new change for this country.

If I were to vote...

If I was legally able to vote for our president this year. I would vote for Barack Obama because we need a postive change for this country. Plus John Mccain already made a bad choice for the Vice President position.

who i would vote for

If i was 18 tomorrow i would vote for Obama

Amanda's Vote

If I were 18, I would vote for Obama. Obama is all for stopping war and I agree with that. McCain is about making the rich richer. I do not like the fact that McCain's Vice President is against abortion and teenage parents, yet her daughter is 17 and is pregnant. They can not tell others not to do something when their family won't do it themselves. I wanted to vote for Hilary Clinton, but since she is not the Democratic Representation, I want Obama for President!

My Vote

I would vote for Obama because he is a democrat. Also because...

YES WE CAN!!!!!!

My Vote

I would vote for Barack Obama because I feel that John McCain has shown some pretty bad choices. Obama also would end the war and fix our economy. McCain would basically be another George Bush in my opinion. Bush has already messed up this country already, why let someone else continue that? Also, Republicans are more conservative and would keep the rich people rich. And Democrats are for the middle / working class. Plus Obama has also talked about improving welfare for working class.

Presidential Election.

I would personally vote for Barrack Obama. The reason behind this is because of how we should turn ourselves into a new direction, to see if the new president, and the new political party can reform the things that need to be fixed.

My Vote

If I had the right to vote, I would vote for Barrack Obama because I support him and the Democratic Party. We share the same opinion on various issues. Also, I think it's time the United States undergoes a serious change.

Who Ben would vote for

I would vote for Obama because he makes cool speeches.

My Vote

If I was 18 I would vote for Obama because McCain's vice-president does not seem like a good choice for the nation.

My Vote (Michael Karp Per. 3)

I would vote for Obama because I don't trust McCain to lead the country and if he dies or gets sick while in office, I don't trust his Vice President to lead the country.

My vote

If I were 18, i would vote for Obama because he said he would end the war with Iraq. It would be saving my parents money. John McCain wouldn't end the war and he would make the rich people even more rich. He's only helping the really wealthy people and not the others when he should make everything equal. John McCain is also too old and Obama would be a much better president for the United States.

my vote

If I am going to be 18 tommorow, I would vote for Obama because he looks like a good leader.

Who Gabe would vote for

If I were to turn 18 tomorrow, I would vote for Obama because I watched the Democratic national convention and his speech was very captivating.

Voting!

If I were 18, I would not know who to vote for in the election. I am undecided.
