The New Colossus by Matthew Aquino, Tom Lam, and Cheryl Chew

Unlike the bold know Greek giant,
With powerful structures stretching for land to land;
Here at our worn gateways, stands
a strong women holding a torch, whose vicious sparks
is the trapped lightning flames, and her name,
Mother of Exiles. From her flashing hand
Shines welcoming to the world, her gentle eyes control
the bridged coasts in which the twin cities border
"Keep your fancy clothes, and cool technology" she says
with soft lips, " Give me your elderly, your outcasts,
those waiting to be free,
your horrible trash swarming your shores,
Send to me those lost, the homeless
As i hold my light to the gates of freedom
