Unlike the Greek conquest of the "world",
It's mark left on a global scale;
Here in New York,
A female symbol of America holds a flame
that represents the American spirit.
The Statue of Liberty. With her torch
She welcomes immigrants.
A link is kept between us all.
"Keep your history, your war, your greed!" cries Lady Liberty.
"Give me your social outcasts.
Those who want to live freely.
The ones rejected from your society.
Send them to me.
I welcome them with my torch."
