The New Colossus

Not like the big man across the way,
With triumphant limbs from place to place he lay,
Who stretches out all throughout the land,
Here with welcoming arms we stand,
The Statue of Liberty stands here tall,
As you can hear the immigrants call,
The flame will forever tower,
Representing strength and power,
Her eyes always gazing about her land
And always trying to lend a helping hand,
With her muted lips she said "Keep your riches and your land,
We will greet them on the warm golden sand.
Send us your unwanted and poor,
Send us the people you don't want anymore.
I look out to the land and all the mates,
and I will be here forever beside the golden gates."
