Rules Of This Blog

Because the WWW can often be thought of as a "Wild West", I thought it'd be a good idea to set some ground rules about what is acceptable and what isn't. Violation of any of these rules is just as serious as any other school policy infraction.

1. BE RESPECTFUL. Don’t say anything to offend others. Any degrading, offensive, or insulting comments will result in you receiving zeros for your assignments and eventually being banned. Also, do not comment-spam other people.

2. NO ANONYMOUS COMMENTS. You must be logged in. Any posts where I’m grading you cannot be anonymous (obviously). Actually, you have to be a member of this blog to post, and I'm the only one who can invite.

3. STAY ON TOPIC. Stick to the discussion.

4. CLEAN UP YOUR WRITING. Even though this is a blog, it is a CLASS blog. While I don’t expect you to be formal the way you would in an essay, you should try to tidy up your spelling and grammar as much as possible. NO “TEXT SPEAK.”

5. NO EXCESSIVE GRAPHICS. Only post videos/photos where appropriate, and even then, use discretion.

Con: They be watchin you

lovejoy

something good about our government is that we have one!

something bad about it is that they contradict themselves by violating citizens costitutional rights!

Erick Supnet

Good-Great nation defense
Bad-Spending when we don't have money

Government pros/con

Pro: Protects and lets people freely live
Con: Taxes

Katie Williams

Good: The government provides free education for children enrolled in public schooling. I believe that this is something that is often taken for granted, yet it should be one of the most appreciated things that the government provides for us.

Bad: The government, is in many ways predjudice against the homosexual community. For example, gay men cannot enlist in the military. Also, gay people are still not allowed to get married in California, and in many other states as well. I believe this is very wrong, and having many gay friends, I have seen the impact of these laws on all of them. America is a free country, and that means everyone should be able to marry the person that they love, same sex or not.

JAZMINE VIEIRA

Disadavantage: The government is involved in your everyday business and can find out every little thing you have ever done in your life simply by doing a background check.

Christine B Nguyen

Good: organization/order (roads, schools, etc.)
Bad: the budget cuts on education

Lauramay Ngo

Having a government is good because they keep things in order but what's bad about the government is that they're still spending when our economy isn't doing well at all and we're in recession.

melissa apostol

good: free education
bad: one thing bad about the government is that the economy is low and people are being laid off of jobs.

Manpreet Jandir

Something good about the government is the public schools.

Something bad about the government is they dont know what to do about the economy being so bad.

Jennifer Phan

Good about Govt.:
The Govt. provides welfare and protects people.

Bad about Govt.:
They tax people and are power thirsty.
